I've heard of taking B Complex and either Sudifed or Benadryl for tinnitus. What is the difference between Sudifed and Benadryl? Which would be better for tinnitus?

My tinnitus was caused by a failed stapedectomy. Was on Klonopin for a few months, but it really didn't seem to help. I had read on a Tinnitus group posting of somebody taking B Complex and another over-the-counter medication. Just trying to track it down.

Sudafed is Pseudoephedrine- like an upper. If your tinnitis is blood pressure related it will make it worse.

Benadryl is an antihistamine, it may help if the tinnitis is related to allergies.

B complex, or specifically B6 is supposed to help with tinnitis not related to a cold or sinus problem.

The BEST thing to do is to avoid aspirin, a common cause of tinnitis is regular aspirin use.

Try the b6 first. It helped me.

It all depends on the individual - some people do benefit and others do not. I have treated someone with tinnitus and it did help a lot. Only one way to find out, just have a course of treatments to see if it will help. Usually 1 a week for 6 weeks although if only a child you could do once a fortnight for a few weeks and see how it goes - see what the Reflexologist suggests after the first treatment.

Go to Walgreens drug store and in the eye and ear section buy some Tinnitus Clear. It helps me. If you can't find it go here to read about it and to order it.

B Complex is always a good thing to take. Your problem could also be due to a lack of zinc.

NIACIN (also known as vitamin B-3) is best for tinnitus - make sure you purcase the non-flushing kind or your face will redden.
