Why do they exist? (they take up your time having to pick them out, and it's not like you can put them to good use once you've got them!)

Other than flicking them on unsuspecting people, bogeys do serve a purpose. They trap bacterias and viruses that want to enter your body. Yes, you have an immune system that works quite well, but bogeys prevent that immune system from working too hard.

You're supposed to breath through your nose

you have nose hair to grab the dirt before the air reaches your lungs

boogers are the result of that dirt being captured

so they do have a purpose

They help clean out your nasal passages. Anything that is stuck in there is pulled out when you pull out the Boogers....

They are a defense system for your lungs so you don't breathe in bad germs pollen and dirt
