I've used yahoo/geocities in the past to host my free website. Has anyone had better success with other options? I'm looking for ease, convenience, options, and space.

I found that the easiest way to build a free website was by using WebStarts. There is a unique drag and drop feature that is extremely easy to use. I built a basic website in 20 minutes with WebStarts.

I would suggest Geocities unless you just want a blog in which case blogger or wordpress (the online version) are best. Blooger is great because you can set it up quickly with no knowledge of html, then poke around in the code until you are confident to change things etc. I went from a few geocities sites over the years to blogger for a year and now I have my own site and domain.

This is not free, but it's so fantastic, it's worth checking out.....

I am using a company called Sitesell. This is the very first time I have built a website, so I needed a company who could take me by the hand, step by step!

I have nothing but praise for them! They make EVERYTHING so easy! They supply all of the online training, simple (yet incredibly sophisticated tools) and excellent support.

The cost is just $299 (£170) per year That includes all of the above plus domain registration. They even supply the templates for designing your site! And don't worry about html coding or other techy stuff as that's all taken care of for you!

My site is only 9 months old. It is already very highly ranked by the major search engines and is attracting up to 1000 hits a day! Plus it generates an income which not only covers the costs, but actually shows a healthy profit!

You can get more info from my information page at:

Please feel free to contact me through my site if you would like anymore info or advice.

Best wishes
