I have this friend, and we were really close for the past two years. Now, she keeps on forgetting if we have arranged stuff to do together, and then she usually makes plans with others. She also waits to make plans with me at the last minute, and half the time I can not make it. It makes me feel like a second-class friend when she does it, because it shows that she doesn't care enough to think about my reaction. I tried telling this to her in a polite way, but she only became angry, really angry, with me about it, saying that she can't help it and that "it was just an accident". This "accident" keeps on happining over and over, though. Should I hold it in and wait for better days or talk to her about it again?

Dear Am I Forget-Me-Not?

There are no accidents in life. Only poor planning, carelessness or inconsideration. A good friend would not treat you this way. Unless your first-class friend is ADD and had a note from her doctor, I wouldn't put up with her childishness. Find another friend that respects your time as much as you do.

The same thing happened to me but it was with my coworkers. We would go out to lunch everyday then a new, young, "cool" chick came to work for us and next thing you know they're walking past me waving bye on their way to lunch without me. That went on for about 2 weeks and guess what? I quit on Thursday and was at a better paying job on MONDAY! True story...they still don't have a receptionist and I left 3 months ago, I swear.
My point is this...you deserve better, act like you don't care even if you feel like it's eating you alive...some people are just like that and you can't change em'

good luck

Don't be a "forget me not", move on and maybe it is for the better. People do tend to grow apart and as long as you live, there will be people that will come and go in your life for many reasons, don't hold on to nothing. The friendship you had in the past was a stepping stone to better friendships in the future, don't dwell, enjoy.

Since you've already talked to her about it and nothing has changed, then she's proven that she's inconsiderate and not much of a friend. Seems like you already know what's up, so it's time for you to forget her completely and hang out with your other friends. She'll know why!

i wounldt say to forget about her. talk to each other from time to time. as hard as it seems, it looks like she got new friends and replaced them with her old ones. thats her disicion. the "accident" is an excuse. id still consider her as a friend but a "class" friend. let her be...hecck she might change her mind and maybe change her attitude.
