Good point, hadn't thought of that.
I'm more worried about the fact that serious abuse can now show on the site with high star ratings, but nothing to show other users displeasure about the content.
At least with the old system you could judge site feelings by the balance of TU & TD given.
Now you have no idea at all, after all a 1 STAR question can have that star because the ASKER put it there.
PS: It will be interesting to see if it influences your choice, and also if the stars get withdrawn by those who don't get best answer.

I am sure it will in some cases, I personally don't care about the stars I didn't even rate the answers/questions before so I really could care less about the stars, but I am sure there are some people that do.

There has been a star system for a long time now....remember giving thumbs up and down to questions just yesterday ? Well now you can only give a thumbs up and it shows a little differently. That's all.
