i just had 2 teeth removed he gave me lortab he knows im prego..so is it safe to take???im 5 months prego just wanted to find out thank you all

Ask your pharmacist or regular doctor. I think your dentist may have forgotten you are pregnant.

Yes, it is safe. Narcotics cross the placenta, but very rapidly. They use narcotic pain relief during labor. As long as you only take 1/2 to 2 pills (depending on your degree of pain) you will be fine. Make sure you only take this every 4-6 hours too. If you havn't taken narcotics before, start w/ the lowest dose as they can make you sick to your stomach and itchy. Also, only take them as long as you need to as you can become dependant on them.

Call your OB before taking anything. I had an ER doctor prescribe me medicine while pregnant and if I would have taken it it would have killed my baby. He too knew that I was pregnant(was there for pregnancy related concerns)

well i should hope that hes not stupid as he is a dentist. they should know what medications are safe during and if he had any hesitation he should have told you. You should always voice your concerns about this stuff instead of just going with the flow of things.

i suggest calling the pharmacy they can relieve any doubt for you and might be able to suggest something else if it is not and they will call the dentist and get it changed for you over the phone so you dont have to run around!

its a little strong, did your ob give your dentist a note stating what you can have done and what medicene to treat with??? When I had my wisdom tooth pulled a few months back the ob told the dentist only ibruphin 800 mg

A friend of mine had to take that for the a couple weeks while pregnant and it turned out fine. Just don't use if not absolutely necessary.

Head to the pharmacy and ask the pharmacist, they are thouroughly trained to handle questions like this and know much better then even your family doctor does.... plus.... you don't need an apointment to ask hehe.
