I know that the birth control pill regulates your period, but once you go off of it will your period still be regulated? I'm just wondering because I'm late for my period but I dont' know if thats because I'm pregnant or if its because I'm just not regular any more? We are trying to get pregnant and I was just wondering about this. I already took a hpt and it was negative and that was 5 days before my period.

No once you stop taking the hormones (the pill) you won't all of a sudden become regular. If you were irregular before the pill more then likely you will be irregular again. If you were regular it will take your body sometime to get used to not being on the pill anymore.

My cycle is irregular now since being off the pill for 6months. I have had two blood pregnancy tests so far. That is pretty much the only way to find out for sure. All my home tests no matter what day have said negative. Having irregular periods mean that you might not even be ovulating to get pregnant, and if you are you dont know when it is.Ovulating is usually not the reg. 10-14 after our period like other women. (When our period does come) You should see a doctor anywhere between 7-12 of trying(if it takes that long)
I wish you luck
take care

Once you are off the pill you won't be regular anymore, in fact even if you were regular before you started taking the pill, when you stop it will take a few months for your body to get back to normal and regulate itself. When I first went off the pill, I could still predict the week my period would come, but it would vary by up to five days, which is perfectly normal the first few months. I would wait a couple of weeks and try the the pregnancy test again if you still haven't had your period. If it is still negative and you still don't get your period the next cycle, go see a dr and get some blood tests done.

Sometimes your period can be irregular after coming off of birth control. When i came off i did not get my period for that month. It also depends on if you finished the pack or not. If you didnt than that can be a reason why you are late. If you really think you are pregnant try testing again because every person is different some women will not show a positive 5 days before there period. You could also go to the doctor to get a blood test they are more accurate. Good luck i hope you are preggers

usually your periods are not regular anymore once you go off the pill, and some times since you dont take it anymore it can mess with your periods, i remember when i stopped i was worried because i didnt have a period for a couple months. But also, you can get pregnant right after you go off, so you should just wait a couple more days and take another test, sometimes they dont show up right away, or just see your doctor. good luck.
