I have yet to claim my tuition from 2001 -2003 on my income tax. Is it too late to claim it? Is there a cut off limit? I don't even know how much unused tuition I have to claim, where would I find this information out? Thanks.

You should probably call the CRA at 1-800-959-8281. They will have a record of your T2202a slips from those years and will be able to send them to you.

You can carry forward your tuition and education amounts indefinitely until you have taxable income to apply them to.

If you had taxable income in 2001-2003, and didn't include your tuition slips on those returns, you may be required to file adjustment returns for those years. If, in fact, you did include those slips but just didn't have taxable income to apply them to, then CRA would also have a record of your tuition carry forward amounts that you will be able to apply to your 2006 return. They will ask you a few q's like your SIN and your net income from your last return filed. I hope this helps. Good luck. =)

um..do you honestly think Canadians care what the Americans think. We didn't elect Bush twice now did we.. ;) Moosehead beer. Only in Canada eh? ;) Edit: Oh boy, shoulda known. I have MANY American friends who I respect very much. I do not 'hate' nor 'dislike' my American cousins..and I enjoy it when a friend tries to get my goat. ;)
