How much would a trip cost for 2 people. Where can I find hotels, and what places are fun to go to?
Thanks for any help =]

You may find some cheap hotels, but remember the Euro is stronger than the dollar right now, so it's going to cost Americans more money.

You can find some cheap dinners in the 6th arrondissement - the latin quarter. Lots of greek restaurants who are hustling for customers, and it's usually reasonable. Fun area anyway. I used to grab a baguette and some cheese and that would be dinner.

Things to see - go to the top of the Eiffel tower just before sunset. Then as the sun goes down, watch the city light up. If you're dying to see the Mona Lisa, do the Louvre. Otherwise, skip it and just visit the gardens outside. you can get into the Louvre to cehck out the pyramid entrance without paying. For a pleasant, easy museum go to the Musee D'Orsay - almost all Imprssionists in an old train station, so it has a light and airy feel.

Go to the square in front of Notre Dame for good people watching. Then go inside and check out the rose window. Also, visit the Centre George Pompidou, a cool modern building with neat exhibits. It used to countdown to the millenium, not sure what they replaced that with.

Walk along the Champs Elysees at any time of the day or night. Walk along the river on the weekend mornings - cool open air markets.

I would try the usual web searches or Fodor's to look for inexpensive hotels. Some guides are set up by $$ per day which could help.

Flights are starting around 600-800 from the West Coast, much less from the East Coast. Hotels can range from 15 Euros to 1,000 Euros you just need to search. For food I would say maybe 30 Euros a day. To the lady who said that a baguette and a Coke are 5-10 Euros she must have been shopping in Galleries Lafeyette cause she paid too much. Baguettes are priced by the government and are just around 1 Euro and a Coke is about the same.
Ive been to France/Paris may times and have just moved back to the states from living 4 years in Switzerland. My mom is going in February to Paris for 2 weeks with her Jr. High class.
Bonne Chance and Bon Voyage

I am not sure how much the hotel cost since I stayed at my friend's house. But it won't be cheap anyway, it's Euro, can't expect low rate. To save money, you can buy their French bread and some jam spreads. Most of the restaurants are expensive. But at least try one especially those tables facing the street for people watching. Try their McD, cause they got beer and different menu. When in restaurant ordering steak, their so called "medium" is still bloody. haha.
Places to visit:
(i) The Lourve. My favorite place. If you appreciate arts, this is a place you must go. Entrance fee around Euro 10++. What to see? A lot they offer. Mona Lisa, the only painting inside bullet-proved glass. You will be surprised how small it is. Besides painting, they have sculptures and other arts from around the world. Recommend time: 3 - 4 hours. After that, go outside the musuem to take pictures of glass Pyramid. FYI: you can take picture inside the musuem too.
(ii) Eiffel Tour. Buy ticket for 1st and 2nd floor, I recommend. To me, the top floor is too high can't view the beautiful streets of Paris. And it costs more to go to the top. Night view is magnificient too.
(iii) Notre Dame. I didn't go inside! Because that time the church was under renovation. What a shame... But it's a must-go to see writer Hugo's work, "Hunchback".
(iv) Arc de Triomphe. It locates at the Paris city center. It is basically a "roundabout". From there, 8 (or 7 or 9) main streets split. One of them is famous Champs Elysees Street (Lois Vuitton HQ is there). Go to the roof of the Arc, charge little fee, really nice view from top.
(v) Le Sacre Couer. A controversial temple/church. Because of its shape. It's on hill top, you can take elevator or walk. I prefer walk. Also nice view from there. Near there, you can also go to "old red light district" - Moulin Rouge! 2 stations if not mistaken. The red windmill is not as big as Luz Bahnman's movie Moulin Rouge.
(vi) Garden of Luxemberg. It's a beautiful garden. For you to relax. Near university, so you can see many students. You can also see Pantheon near it.
(vii) Chateau de Versailles. (i) to (vi), by "MRT", no problem. But Versailles, need to go by car. It is a place where French Kings used to live. Don't miss their Versailles Garden! It's amazing. One of the World Heritages.
(viii) Optional, St. Sulpice Church. If you like the novel, Da Vinci Code. You MUST go this church. Because the roseline is there. Very interesting church indeed (with Jesus appearance because of the light exposed...). All churches (I've been to) are free to go in.
I hope this helps. Contact me if you need more info.

Europe is very expensive. Figure a minimum of $250 per night for a basic hotel room. Taxi fare from the airport to the center of Paris is around 40 euros each way. Food in France is very expensive. It will cost 5 to 10 euros just for a basic baguette and coke for lunch. Dinner will probably be a minimum of 40 euros.

I DID IT FOR MY GIRLFRIENDS 21ST, AND IT WORKED OUT BLOODY EXPENSIVE. THE FOOD AND DRINK REALLY BUMPED IT UP. YOU WILL LOVE IT, BUT TAKE MORE MONEY THAN WHAT YOU WERE PLANNING.
