You can check which version you have by going to the Setting icon, then scroll down to System Settings, then go to System Information. I got version 3.03 by going to psp.com, clicking on Americas, then United States. After it takes you to another website, click on PSP, then downloads. Then to your left, click on System Software Update. After that, scroll down and I''d suggest click on NETWORK UPDATE. It's faster and easier. But If you scroll down before clicking that, you can see all the new features like Internet Browser Guide, a camera setting under the Photo icon, and lot's of other cool stuff. So then follow the instructions. And don't worry, IT'S ALL FREE. But you at least have to have an AC Adaptor, an Internet Browser, and a Game Disc in (don't ask).

There's only 1 version of the PSP hardware. The Firmware (which is the PSP operating system) has 3 main versions. You have the latest one. Newer games will force you to update the firmware so you can play the game. Sony releases new firmware to make way for new features, which helps the system adapt to a changing game environment, but they also do it to prevent people from running homebrew applications, which run unsigned code that sony hasn't approved. That's how you see old pictures of people emulating super mario brothers on PSP.

Do you have custom Firmware? If definite: ISO is for .iso video games (acquire with torrents) GAME150 and GAME303 is for homebrew. in case you have not have been given custom Firmware, then it is ineffective.
