example-dry cell.
secondary cell is that in which the cell can be used again by recharging i.e the the reaction in a secondary cell is reversible.

Think about a simple zinc - carbon primary cell; the electrolytic action eats away at the zinc container and eventually this fails. There is no chemical mechanism by which it can be "recharged" 1 2 Secondary cells have a different and more complex electrochemistry that works simply by moving electrons from one terminal to the other. During the charging process the electrons are moved back to their original places so at the end of a charge-discharge cycle the battery ends up the same as when it started.
