Even if your completely healthy and have sex on all the right days each month, you only stand a 26% chance of concieving each month.
I'd quit smoking now and also have your partner quit smoking. It effects the quality of his sperms and your eggs...and by the time you find out your pregnant, your baby is already getting the effects from it.
But other than that, your doing everything right. I would start taking prenatals and get some folic acid in your system also.

If you both stop smoking, it will help your chances of conceiving.

If the ovulation tests shows that you are ovulating, then that's a great sign.

How long is your luteal phase? That's the number of days from the time you ovulate to the time you get your period. If it's less than 12 days, then it's possible that the embryo is not able to "stick." There are meds available to help this problem.

A pre-pregnancy check-up can help find if there are any other hormone problems.

Also, something that worked for me. I noticed that even if I kept a pillow under my back and my legs in the air, everything came out. But if I lay on my tummy after doing it, everything stayed in. Both times we conceived was with me on my tummy afterwards for about 20 minutes. My doctor never said I have an inverted uterus or anything but I think that maybe I do.

Hope that helps and good luck!

It would be better to stop before you get pregnant; I understand how hard it is, I went through the same thing. But you'll be glad if you stop before you get pregnant. As for getting pregnant, it can take a couple of months. Try not to stress about it. The minute you relax will be when you get pregnant. My husband and I tried for six months with my son. I finally had enough and we stopped trying. We didn't prevent but we weren't working for it either. That was when I got pregnant. I had stopped stressing and started relaxing. If you aren't pregnant in 18 months, then go see a doctor; but the doctors aren't concerned with your fertility if you have been trying for less than 2 years. I hope all goes well for you and you have a baby soon!

STOP SMOKING NOW!
It increases the risk of miscarrying, even before you know that you are pregnant. Next, go see your obgyn tell him/her your background on how long you have been trying and she might do some blood work to make sure everything is ok. It never hurts to ask questions, GOOD LUCK!
I know quiting smoking is hard, I smoked for 5 years then we quit together cold turkey when we decided to ttc 2 years ago. I still get the craving for a cigarette every now and then but I just think about how much I want a baby and that's more important. Also it's easy to quit together that way you have someone else supporting you.

This is my standard answer......... go get a book called Taking Charge of your fertility by Toni Weschler
This book will help you with all of your menstrual and conception questions. It’s for all women - not just women trying to conceive. It covers everything from temperature to mucus checking, etc.. It will help you understand your body and all the myths about it. It will help you time when you are ovulating and the best times to conceive – or not! It tells you how to figure out your cycle and what to expect. My husband and I tried for a year to conceive and nothing happened. The first month I used the book we conceived right away. Now I am due Feb 2. It's about knowing your body and knowing when you are fertile or not. You can pick and choose what you do with your info. Good luck and don't listen the all the myths!

First off, stop smoking. You need to be healthy when you conceive and while you're pregnant. Second, if you've only been trying for 6 months, a fertility doctor won't see you. Many couples who have no fertility problems take longer than a year to conceive. Keep trying and charting and if when a year has passed you haven't conceived, contact a specialist.

You do know that smoking (from you or the daddy) makes it less likely for you to conceive right?? well it does...did you ever have a pre-pregnancy check up?? The doctor usually lets you know what might be getting in the way of you conceiving...oh and if you were on the pill before it might take you from 6 months to a year to get pregnant...if you were on the shot it could take up to 18 months...I would advice you to talk to your doctor..im sure you're fine :) I wish you all the best!! Good Luck!!

I was 18 when I got pregnant, and both my ex-husband and I smoked, drank, and did occasional drugs. I quit the day I found out I was pregnant. My ex had already had 1 child with his previous girlfriend before I got pregnant, and is having another child with a girl who smoked alot before becoming pregnant. It's always better to quit, but smoking may not be the reason. How's your diet?

Smoking cuts down your fertily to almost half. Him smoking also cuts down his fertility. If you stop smoking your fertility will go up and it will be easier to quit before you get pregnant compared to while you are pregnant. Also maybe get his sperm checked out. It might not be you at all.

Good Luck to you!

you need to stop stressing yourself about it. it all depends some women get pregnant on their first try and some try for years and nothing happens. i would say relax and stop smoking no matter what,if you are pregnant or not..my friend has been trying for 2 years now and she finally saw a doctor she now is going into treatment, the doctor said her eggs could be to old,or to thick so the sperm can not enter.so it can be many reasons.try little longer if it does not work see a doctor
