The Exorcist and the original Nightmare on Elm Street. Both really scary movies.
Jaws has got to be in the picture somewhere.

Excorsit 3 was my favorite horror movie - it was really creepy.
Also the original Dawn of the Dead was awesome. What made it cool was that the people in it were really smart - and some of them died anyway. Its less scary in a horror movie when someone dies because they do something totally retarded.

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 1974.
It uses REAL skeletons from India.
It also shows Marilyn Burns (Sally) getting cut by a razor FOR REAL by Gunner Hansen. That is her REAL blood!

Anything by George Romero - "Dawn of the dead", "Night of the living dead", etc.
Great cheesy/scary movie "Shawn of the Dead" - a must see.
