Molly Brown was considered Neuvo Riche...made money quick , gold I believe. Was never raised to be "high class" ...therefore she was very crass. As depicted in the movie Titanic, although she was a first class passenger, as a woman she did not fit the first class image. Played poker, smoked cigars, not exactly what was considered mannerly among the aristocrats. Although, her street smarts helped her survive and take charge under a tragic situation.
