I feel like I am working hard for absolutely nothing.?

I have been trying real hard every day this year to look good, always wear makeup, and I am trying to look appealing. I try to be social and I hate being single. But no matter how hard I try I haven't had plans to do anything with my peers all year!!!! Now I don't even have a date for prom. I feel like I am trying extremely hard for absolutely nothing. So why even try.

You have a lot of people looking up to you but you don't know it. Are they intimidated by you? Maybe you should open up and start being more vocal about what you WANT. "We have not because we ask not." Maybe they think it's easy for you and that you're being a little nonchalant. That's how it was for me back in school. I was lonelier than anybody knew. Tell people how you feel and learn the power of ASKING. Happy New Year and never give up!

When I was your age I was called up for National Service in the British Army and there I met a man called a Regimental Sergeant Major. If you want motivation then they can do it. Why not give it a try? Hello again Bruiser, Thank you for reading my answer. The man I met when I was in the army will have been replaced by others who do the same thing. They enforce discipline in the army and we all hated them at the time. Later on we found that they had made us into strong men. You have the right attitude and all you need now is strong guidance. Keep thinking that way and you will succeed but remember there is no easy way. Good Luck.
