depends on the Nokia model you have. I have a Nokia N73. On my phone its automatically displayed.I also have an 6280 here's how i do it on the 6280 menu>settings>date and time>set the time>select clock type digital/ anaologue. Once the clock type is selected it should display on the front screen.

Go to settings, then date and time, then clock and there it is, an option to hide/show the clock
