A cooking stove...no. They have charcoal filtered hoods that blow air back out the top of the hood though.
A wood burning heating stove, yes. Or some fossil fuel burning equivalent...probably.

If its a wood stove you do. And gas stoves need venting, unless you want to die.

Any stove using fuel needing air for combustion needs to ventilate the by product carbon monoxide, a poison to human lungs.
