Please try to find a Rat Rescue organization. There are several rat groups on Yahoo!Groups and you can post there or ask about rat rescues at your local Humane Society. Don't take them to the pet store to become snake food.

I'm assuming that you want to find good pet homes for your babies. I wouldn't have it any other way.
Ask around your neighbourhood, ask friends, ask at schools
Put an ad in the paper
I wouldn't trust pet stores to sell your rats just as pets
Humane Societies are good because they are required to find pet homes for all animals. But if they can't find homes for the rats, they will euthanize them.
Look into shipping, it can be very expensive and most outlets will not take the responsibility of shipping live rodents.
I would love to take them but I have over 50 rats to care for right now.

Well, if you have a local pet store you can give them away, or you can go to www.craigslist.com and sell them with a free classified ad online! I see rats on there all the time for like $10 each to good families. If you give them away for free they will most likely end up as reptile chow.

If he has mites, he might want a miles better therapy, which you ought to verify your vet for. from time to time an injection can take transport of that kills the mites, your rat might choose this. do not wash him in dish cleansing soap, those chemical components are actually not very style to human dermis, in no way ideas rat's dermis. determine once you sparkling the cage out, you do away with each final little bit of bedding, throw away & replace his toys besides, in any different case mites will carry on and reinfect him. i don't think of the infant oil will artwork, it may worsen his dermis, inflicting him to scratch harder, making himself bleed and leaving his dermis open to infections. Ask at your puppy keep for a sprig to handle mites on rodents, there are some that could help him.

The local zoo might accept them, but they would use the rats as live food for the reptiles. I know this sounds mean.

You can ship them, sure.
But you can just let them free. Rats really love to be free. And there's no fine for that, unless you do it off the side of a road.

Here in Plano Texas I took a couple of litters over to the Outdoor Learning Center. They started a colony with them, to be used in feeding Katy the giant python, and other snakes.
