He's in a long distance relationship that has been going for two years. He's 19, and she just turned 16 recently. It's the first relationship for both of them and I'm worried they're never going to realize there's way more people in the world, I think they're gonna end up getting married once she's 18. She's got a pretty annoying personality and she's pretty average looking. All my friends agree he shouldn't be seeing her. Now he's also trying to talk her into having sex with him. What should we do to help him?

If she is only 16 and he is 19, he'd better not have sex with her. Even though it is consentual, her parents could have him charged, because she is a minor. On the relationship part, there isn't much you can do except talk to him. He is going to make up his own mind. If you try too hard, you could damage your friendship.

A three year age difference alone should not be reason to break off a relationship. So on that score...leave them be.
The sexual issue....ummm this can be trouble for both of them not just legally. If he truly loves her.. he should put aside his sexual appetite, respect, honor and protect her.
How can you help? As a friend I would encourage them both to go to church regularly. Date in public and avoid being alone together. Nurture their relationship by being upright and honest.

You need to try to get him interested in other girls. He needs to see that there is more out there. She is too young for him anyway. Maybe he will have sex with this girl and not want anything to do with her anymore I don't know but that is usually the way it goes.

You need to caution your friend because if he does decide to take it further he can be charged with statuary rape depending on the state.

Remind him of the laws in your State. Talk to her and tell her if she wants to do that, get her parents consent. Of course tell her you will tell them.
