Throw yourself into your studies and come out with a better degree than all the piss heads! Also, I find that uni seems to turn a lot of people into the same person, which is very annoying for non-uni people! Please don't start using the word 'random' out of context like so many other idiots who are supposedly in 'further education'.

Seriously though, don't feel the need to fit in with the crowd as there is a lid to fit every pot as I like to say and you will meet people. A big group of friends is not everything, just one or two special people can make a world of difference.

Have you though about getting a part time job or joining a social club or society that caters towards your interests at uni? There are so many to join! (At least there is at Leeds anyway).

I really hope you start to feel better soon, and remember that things are never quite as bad as they seem. If things don't improve you can always leave and maybe enrol with another uni, I know people who have done this and have been much happier and fulfilled for doing so. You can always change your situation if you really want.

Best of luck xx

Find extrovert friends that drag you out! I was quite introvert in high school and i made a few friends that wouldn't let me hide and I got to going out and socialising more. It really paid off cos when i got to Uni I found I was able to go and meet people. I'm still not the loudest and sociable person but I can make do and I have a nice group that have gotten to know me.

Join a club, they are great for bringing peole together.
