I was just wondering, because I don't really think that she's actually ugly. After all, her facial features seem to be symmetrical. If she's unattractive at all, it's only because her clothes, glasses, and hair aren't stylish or flattering and she wears braces.

The thing is that people only look that deep into someone to determine what they think. Its not that shes so horribly ugly, its that shes not as beautiful looking as the people around her or beautiful enough for the people around her. I really love the show because it shows how people who may be gorgeous on the outside are really very ugly on the inside. Its something we've all heard before, but its nice to see a show like that become so popular, especially among young girls. Its sending them a good message at a time when they most likely are going through their "ugly stage in life" wearing braces and glasses.

In real life she is actually kinda pretty.... it's just on the show they try to make her seem ugly with the glasses, big braces, weird hair and dressing her up in weird clothes...

If you saw America Ferrera(actress who plays Ugly Betty) she is gorgeous. She won Best Actress for comedy series, and was breathtaking. It is all the makeup and hair. Like in Princess Diaries with Anne Hathway.

In her Ugly Betty get-up, she's quite horrendous. The actress America Ferrera is a cutesy girl-next-door when she isn't Ugly Betty.

America 's character is certainly no beauty, but in real life, she does not have braces, has beautiful skin, thick glossy hair, and dresses quite stylishly. But the nicest thing about her is she is not full of herself like so many Hollywood stars are.

Of course she's not UGLY she was beautiful in "The Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants" She was the chunky one, but she is actually very pretty.

no, the actress, she's called america something, shes actually very pretty. in an interview she said they make her character by brushing her eyebrows up, putting on fake braces and a wig. they were gonna stick fake zits on too, but she thought it would look too cartoonish

If she were gay, I'd totally date her. I think she's kinda nerdy, but deffinately not what I would call ugly. She's just a trend setter, except no one happens to be following her trend. That's what I call being original.

They also make her eye brows bushy. her clothes are not stylish and they also do not show off her figure.
