for allowing politicians on both sides of the political 'battlefield' divide us? Aren't we only listening to our 'heros' bash the other side? Let's do each other a favor and listen carefully to both sides and hear what they are actually saying. Let's keep up with how many times our candidate or a member of our chosen party uses the opposing party to make a point. Is it possible that the only leg our chosen party is standing on is the fact that he/she can make us hate the other side?

Two things prompted my question. First was the Democratic response to Bush's speech the other night. I asked my boyfriend how anyone could have a proper response ready when the president had only stopped speaking seconds before. Sure, they knew the jist of what he was going to announce, but was any thought given to what he actually said? Second thing was this morning Hillery Clinton was speaking and I thought, "I'll give her 10 seconds before she says 'the Bush administration has not...' It took 7 seconds. My next thought was that the country is so divided and quick to make judgement, are we all quilty of just automatically assuming that whatever the candidate of our choice says is correct.

THE Jenny is still here. I'm just trying to take a kinder and gentler approach with my fellow Americans.

Yes...it's the nature of the beast. The average American believes almost any rhetoric, so the media caters to the sound bites of politicians rather than to the meat of any issue.

We are governed by sound bite. That's why politicians rehearse exactly what to say, and say the same thing over and over and over again. Most times it doesn't even matter what the question is, they still just recite their canned answer. Most of it is about diverting blame to the other side.

This is why Americans believe in stuff like Global Warming, too, they don;t have the time or inclination to realize there really isn't any science behind it.

Where is MY Jenny? Has someone stolen her mind? This battle field is 200+ years old and YES it had divided before in a terrible way, this is kids stuff Jenn! There IS however forces at the extreme left and right that have always enjoyed seeing us fight. the problem is that while the Republicans moved to the center the Dems moved farther left and redrew the center. look at Lieberman the senator a real true democrat and abandoned by his party as they shuffled left. Have you seen any republicans left behind because they were too far left or right?
On the back of My M9 9mm pdw.J-e-n-n-y got a funny look from some of my unit though.

lots of solutions right here, yet i imagine maximum are lacking what you're asking. the way I study it, is you're literally not asking if we've a ideal to carry, yet no matter if it truly is extra useful to carry the gun hid or extra useful to carry it in the open. i imagine open carry is extra useful a twin of in the former west. i keep in mind that many human beings imagine that there became a shootout at severe midday each day in the west yet actual they were uncommon. Dime save novels and video clips have misrepresented the reality on guns for the time of that aspect. once you've a holster on the fringe of your leg then i understand you're packing. even as it truly is hid i understand no longer some thing. i'm professional-open carry and in reality many states enable for it.

As long as people take CNN, FOX, BLAH BLAH BLAH as a valuable source of information there will be division. No one weighs anything here. It's funny because most people stick with strict guidelines such as... If you're a repub you're against abortion, You're for the death penalty, you think Bush is a God... So on and so on... It works in Vice Versa as well... Except the democrats have their own God.

Killing an unborn child is not murder because it's not developed... Killing a prisoner because of his crimes is not wrong, but yet these people are undeveloped as well. Politicians are not psychologists.... They just think it's right or wrong. Maybe they should pull the plug?

Good point. It has gotten all too common (on Answers and in real life) that political conversations are all about telling someone about how much their party sucks, name calling, and very biased facts from very biased sources. But I think it is a direct reflection of what is going on in Washington. It's all about which side wins (whether in votes or popularity polls) instead of making good decisions despite party lines.

Statistics have demonstrated that negativity towards other candidates performs better than being positive about a candidate when it comes to elections. This is the responsibility of the American public to recognize what they are being sold. How to do that is beyond me.
