Hmmm, The teenager has a health problem that is life threatening and the teenager chooses not to take care means trying to kill his or herself. Yep, that meets my definition of a mental problem.

A teenager is still under the supervision and care of parents or guardian. If they failed to care for their child they would be either crazy or criminal. So.....

I hope this helps. Good luck.

I don't know what exactly you mean by a lunatic asylum but if you are asking if your parents or anyone else can force you to enter treatment for a mental disorder the answer is yes they can providing....

They are willing to sign a court affidavit under penalty of perjury that you are a danger to YOURSELF or to OTHERS that meet the statute to force evaluation of a condition. In the facility they are given a period of time to evaluate the need for psychiatiric intervention and a report is made back to the court to continue treatment or to release the individual on their own. Your parents can only force a mental evaluation. The courts will listen to the physicians as far as what should happen to you and then by court order mandate treatment if needed.

As far as where that would occur... most likely a hospital since most regional psychiatric facilities have been closed.

Yes they could. They cant just drop them off there tho. They need to be brought to a facility where they talk to the child and figure out what is going on. If the doctors at the facility feel it is in the best interst for the child to br brought to a mental hospital then they call an ambulance to take them there. While they are there they watch the child and evaluate how long the child needs to be there and what exactly is the problem with that child.

hope i helped

well, just to inform you there are no such things as "lunatic asylums" that's not what they're called...they're called "insane asylums" and those don't exist anymore, were banned in the late 70s/early80's by the Reagan Administration...and to answer your question, yes, if a child (under 18) has a heart problem and refuses to seek treatment for it, their parent could put him/her in a mental health clinic to encourage them to take care of their health, Now if the person was 18 or older, it'd be a different story.

Sorry to say this but you really need to work on your spelling. I can see why you have been so upset by this film. In the UK a person can be forcable admitted to a mental institution if they are likely to be a danger to themselves or the public. I suppose it is arguable that failing to have a treatable medical condition treated is being a danger to yourself so perhaps a parent could have a child admitted on those grounds. Whether they should or not is another matter but as a mother myself I can understand why a parent would want to do it in those circumstances. Your children are the most precious things in the world and you would do whatever it took to protect them.

ok - you're framing your question in certainly one of those way that it variety of seems such as you're demanding somebody ought to deliver somebody (even perhaps you) to a "lunatic asylum" against their will. some issues spring to ideas a million. there are actually not any lunatic asylums from now on. psychological wellbeing centers those days are reserved for under the main severe cases of ailment e.g. paranoid schizophrenia, somecases of bipolar disease 2. if the teen is a recurring suicidal individual and is a risk to her very own protection, then committment right into a psychological hospital is unquestionably fairly useful. The state does this for her very own protection. probably what the television coach did not permit you be attentive to is that her suicidal dispositions stem from something it is pervasive and finally unsafe to herself without therapy. This individual probably had a wellbeing concern which you weren't maid attentive to. additionally btw, thoughts of suicide are actually not a psychological wellbeing concern - donning them by way of is a topic inspite of the incontrovertible fact that (not neccessarily a disease). So while you're experieicing suicidal thoughts, it is familiar - performing them out isn't. 3. if somebody has no psychological wellbeing subject concerns, there is not any reason to deliver them to a psychological hospital. Given investment subject concerns, and the prospect for legal issues in misdiagnosis - there is not any reason on any end of the spectrum for somebody to deliver yet another to a psychological hospital without appropriate reason.
