Some of the girl names my husband and I like are: Brooklynn, Hannah, Taylor, Grace, Ava, Jayde (orJayden). That is all we have thought of so far, and none really seem to stick out. Any other ideas or opinions on these?

Hannah and Grace are my faves from the ones on your list, because they're classy and timeless, not to mention beautiful, easy to spell, and not likely to get your daughter mistaken for a boy.

Taylor, Brooklynn and Jayden are too "trendy" and popularly-used for my taste, plus do you really want your daughter to be one of about 4 other kids in her classrooms with that same name? :( On top of that, Taylor and Jayden are names that can be used for boys OR girls, and personally I do not like gender-ambiguous names. (I also know some folks with gender-ambiguous names, and most of them wish their parents didn't choose those names).

So on your list, I LOVE Hannah and Grace. :) From my own list of fave girls names, I'd like to humbly add the following: Elizabeth (always a classic, plus the girl can experiement with nicknames based on it), Alannah, Natalie, Katherine, Sarah/Sara, Laurel, Julia, Isabella, Fiona.

First of all, take your time, you have several months to decide. My only advise to you is pick a name your little girl will be proud to be called. Stay away from names that always brings the question "where did that come from", "how do you spell that", or the one I hate "that's different"! Yes, I have an unusual name, which I have shortened and thought about changing it many times! Myself, I prefer older names that are beautiful throughout the years. I love Hannah and Grace, you could use them together, Hannah Grace (last name). Another thing to consider is how it sounds with your last name. Also, check out the initials, you don't want some that spell out "bat", "rat", etc. Take care of yourself and have a wonderful pregnancy and let us all know when your little one arrives. God Bless.

Good Luck, choosing a name can be very trying but you'll know when you see your baby what the perfect name is! With my last baby it took us forever to narrow down the list to 2 names that we were happy with and when we saw her at birth we knew which name was perfect :)

I know half a dozen children with those names and that is just in my town. I say scratch all those names and find a name that isn't so common. Just my suggestion. I named my oldest daughter Breanna (sounds like bre-anna not bre-onna) in 1994. I picked the name out when I was 15. In third grade she had 3 other breanna's in her class alone. My other three children have less common but still lovely names. It's ultimately up to you but I suggest finding out what names have been on the top 20 baby names lists over the past five years and avoiding them. A name should be unique just like the person.
