Usually when straight guys are that interested in gay culture, it's because of their insecurity of their own curiosity.

I'm not sayin, I'm just sayin............

Because he uses issues like that to sucker the stupid evangelical Christans into thinking he is a holy roller just like them. Also he is beholden to the Insurance companies who would have to cover partners in same sex marriges

For Bush and his cabal, gay marriage is more a way to energize the far right branches of Christianity. They see it as a method of getting votes, and use things like gay marriage to cover their abysmal record in other areas.

We saw this during the last election. Republicans were out in force when it came to gay marriage, Terri Schiavo, abortion, immigration harping the party line in the hopes of working up Christians to the point that Christians would ignore Katrina, the war in Iraq, and the environment.

That's just trying to hard. The President is harrassed, asked and questioned constantly by people in general and the media about issues, this is one of them. I don't approve of all his decisions but he is honest about his opinions and his christain beliefs and this is a sourse of that particular one.
Personally, I have had many gay friends-they are wonderful, energetic, creative and artistic people and I do think that sometimes one shouldn't judge the physical world by the spiritual one-or the genes we are given by the moraly we are taught. If you are in a true loving relationship (which is more than many hetro-marriges!) than one should be able to cover, insure and legally bind oneself to another. I myself would rather that it not be called a marrige but rather a legal union but that's just words I guess. To me marrige is a word used for a man and a woman and two like genders should be joined in a union by vows and legalities.
Does that make me anti-gay? Certainly not! You are what you are-but President Bush deserves to have his opinion-people ask,he answered-simple.

He doesn't care about homosexual marriage, but he does care about marriage.

And all the historical evidence available points to the fact that homosexual marriage undermines traditional marriage.

He also cares about the dangers of an activist court. He's seen in Massachussets and NJ what can happen when a the tyranny of a court overrides the will of the people. It was not the people who chose same-sex marriage, it was not their elected representatives who legalized it. In both cases, it was 4 people in black dresses who dictated to the people that it was legal. Anybody who believes in representative democratic government should be appalled at such a thing.

It's scary to know how many people like you are out there, flaming and flouncy, who support tyranny when they agree with its outcome.

Why? Because gay rights activitists made him make a decision. Not because he sat down and made a list, but because the so called live and let live community wanted him and the rest of the country to say it's okay to be gay.

If you want to be gay, fine. Be gay. One of my dearest friends is gay, but he's not going to make me say it's okay. Any more than I'm going to make him or the rest of the country say it's okay if me and my boyfriend just live together.

I don't think he does. He'll parrot any line that he thinks his voters want to hear. Those voters being largely composed of fundamentalists who think being gay is abhorrent. Note that those same voters are really big on religion. It is no wonder that George also professes to hear heavenly voices in his head. I have no idea who Bush really is -- he is a composite of what his political analysts tell him to be.

He does this because it secures the right wing Christian vote. Who really cares. Bush belongs to the occult and this FACT can be researched. The Christian right are unknowingly supporting evil.

WHY ARE SO MANY HOMO'S INTERESTED IN TAKING PART OF THE STRAIGHT CULTURE AND FLIPPING IT TO THEIR CONVENIENCE? ARE THEY STRAIGHT PHOBES? ARE ALL HOMO'S TRYING TO BE EXCEPTED BY THE STRAIGHT CULTURE? IS THIS WHY THEY ARE TRYING TO INCORPORATE STRAIGHT CULTURE IN THEIR BROKEN LIVES? HOMOSEXUALITY IS NASTY AND GROSS. THEY CAN KEEP THEIR LIFE STYLE TO THEMSELVES. CIVIL UNION , OK. MARRIAGE IS EXCLUSIVELY FOR THE STRAIGHT.
I AM NO HOMOPHOBE, I AM NOT SCARED OF THEM, I JUST CAN'T STAND THEM. THEY ARE AS BAD AS TERRORIST. THEY ARE CULTURAL TERRORIST.
