that majority of those shown on the show not only have no talent whatsoever(and that's ok) but most importantly, are such unbelievable BAD SPORTS, rude as heck especially on TV, have no sense of dignity, grace or manner, what a disappointment......

These people that we see on American Idol who couldn't carry a tune in a bucket have been lied to and told they can sing. Maybe they got up in front of the congregation at church and sang a hymn and some good Christians told them it was beautiful, not wanting to hurt their feelings. Maybe they got in front of a bunch of drunkards on karaoke night (when you're drunk, everything sounds good). Maybe they actually think they can sing because I've seen people who couldn't sing if their life depended on it actually break down and cry when the judges told them they weren't going to Hollywood. Or, they could just be getting up there as a joke or just so they can say "I was on American Idol!" or "I cussed out Simon Cowell for telling me I can't sing!".

what do you expect from a bunch of narcissistic jug heads who think they are such great singers after taking no voice or music theory lessons that they could waltz onto this show, belt whatever comes out and get a recording contract followed by America's love.

remember kids, your mom told you that you were good... this does not mean that you actually are!

I think there might be too much self esteem being taught (like "everybody's a winner!") so therefore they think they are far superior to everyone else. It's pathetic. And nobody had the heart to tell them they can't sing, either.

I remember hearing somewhere that they are told to stick up for themselves etc... makes for better TV then if they all would nod politely etc.. and walk off ...

Um, dont you think that's just acting now? They have a camera in their face, of course they are going to take their 15 seconds of fame while they can.
