In my second semester of college, I'm taking descriptive astronomy. I've always been VERY interested in it, since before I can really recall. I've always looked up at the stars and asked questions about them. I'm worried though, that it may not be what I expect. Do I have reason for this worry, or is it just a case of the "What if's"?

If it's descriptive, then it's probably just that: a description and overview of astronomy. If there is any math to do, it will be pretty easy.

If you're interested, you should take it. It might even count as a physics/science credit for your overall plan.

I took it as one of my science requirements because I hate science and didn't like other choices. It counted as my non lab science. I actually learned a bit about planets and stuff that was interesting but it was very heavy on the reading and testing and little else. doesn't mean your class will be as every school is different. It was an easy A though since I liked reading.

How hard it will be will depend on your present knowledge. It should no harder than any other class you are taking. If you get problems you know where to turn to for fast answers !!

Talk to the prof and see what the course content is and go from there. Clearly from the title it's non mathematical.
