This is the company claiming to be "model managment", they have said they will find me an agent within a month!
I went to london an got my pics taken (130 shots) by this company which didnt cost me anything, but now they want £1200 for my portfolio, which apparently i have the full rights to

This is the classic pay for pictures scam. Let the pictures go, forget you ever took them, and walk away.

You do not have the full rights to the pictures. However, if you were smart enough to have not signed a model release, neither does the company. If there was no release, the company cannot use them for marketting purposes. They also cannot sell them to a third party. The photos will have to be locked away like they never existed.

Never get a portfolio before you have an agency. Agencies will want to market you a very specific way and will throw your earlier pictures away 99% of the time.

NO NO NO NO NO! They are conning you. If a real agency thought you had what it takes, they'd be out finding you work from paying customers, not asking you for money. I'd report these pigs to the Department of Trade and Industry before the suck the blood out of some other poor unsuspecting soul.
