I am unable to watch any videos on the internet because of this and also cannot download anything. Please help! Thanks in advance.

Open the CD-rom draw. Write on a post-it, 'please activate my active x' and place it in the draw. Close the draw.

I guess "Lou" can only be classed as a fxxxxxg idiot, that will stick you coffee cup up...
I suggest you take your machine to an expert, if I told you you could do more damage. As you are not really computer literate I feel that it would be irresponsible to try to explain.
Basically, it may be only turning something on, or loading more codecs.
