You need to go to the NYU website where there is a section that discusses costs of attending college there.

Of course, the cost for books will vary tremendously depending on what major you are studying. Some professors require a stack of books for a single course, and other courses you buy one book and use it for two terms. The price of books does not vary from school to school - I mean, if you take biochemistry at NYU it will cost the same for the biochem book as if you took it at Iowa State. So what you could do is go to your local college and go in the bookstore - check out the books on sale for the courses in the department you are thinking of studying in.

I hope that won't be too depressing -- text books for a lot of courses are very expensive. It is a major part of your college expenses.

The books at any University are a rip off! Try to find out what books you need before hand and buy them through internet auction sites or half.com. You will save hundreds and thousands of dollars!
