I'm almost 50 and just started working for myself with a business I do from home. I started when I was still working and quit two years ago.
If you want to start a business, look into what the baby boomers are into. They've driven the economy for the past 30 years. Now they're aging and don't want to look it or feel it.
Find a mentor that you can shadow - just call someone in the industry that interests you and ask for an appointment. Tell them you're interested in that field and interview them - ask them what they like about what they do and the challenges they face and how they've overcome them.
Think of this as "play," not work and have fun with it.
If you like, you may email me and I'll tell you a bit more about what I do and how I did it.
Good luck!

well im 21 and i already feel that way, i am a Realtor going for my law degree in about a year and hopefully within a year ill have my own real estate firm and maybe that feeling of not accomplishing anything will fade so i recommend the same thing...get your real estate license done, and then wait 3 years by doing that, if you like people ull do just fine...then after 3 years open your own firm and become a broker...no college needed by the way just courses on the way, and it'll give you some sense of accomplishment, trust me, so that may be something you want to consider doing...i hope it helps

Just to let you know. I am going to be 34 years old. I have been at my job for 10 years and I went back to school and majoring in Liberal Arts. I feel the same as you, I do not know what I want to do. I have so many ideas but I do not know where to begin I feel as I have accomplished nothing in life.

So go for your dream! There are organizations that will help with small business set ups. Look into it. Why not reach for your dream? If that doesn't work then go to school part time and get a different job. One thing that I know, it is never to late for anything. Good luck.

This may seem far fetched, but have you ever thought of selling cars?
It is a commission based business that teaches you the basics of entrapenurialship. After that you'll be able to go ahead and find a niche in something you love and start your own business with confidence.

Helping people would probably make you feel like you have a purpose in life. Maybe you could start a foster home for child or even adults in your home. Then you wouldn't have to worry about the expense of opening a business elsewhere. check with your county to find out information on it if your interested at all. Good luck I hope you find your purpose in life.

What are your hobbies and skills?
Usually if there is something you really enjoy, you are more likely to find success with it. Try to find a niche that has something to do with what you like and go for it!
