Im glad to get rid of them because Im sick of them being rammed down the UK's throat every day, in every magazine, in every newspaper. Its just crazy that an average footballer and his talentless wife can command such coverage for shopping and being skinny. She is a disgraceful role-modle to impressionable girls who actually believe it is sexy and good to look like her...she disgusts me. And he is no better. They are over-rated, over the top but thankfully, no longer over here!!! Phew, rant over!

Well, I am glad they are coming here so that we can give Brangelina a break.. And hopefully she wears underwear..
Knowing us "clever" Americans, we will think of some silly nickname for them like
Poshbecks or Vickham or something crazy like that.
Now will you take Britney Paris and The Olsen twins in exchange? Please, pretty please with sugar on top.

Nothing. America thinks nothing of it at all. It's soccer for God's sake. A bunch of thugs running up and down with the most intellectual part being figuring out if you're offsides or not.
As to the Beckhams off the field, the only story I've heard about them is a few years ago now in which they went ballistic when they went into a Hollywood clothing store, demanded the store kick everyone out and lock the doors, and the store folk looked at them like they'd grown antlers and wondered whyever would they do that? They're just another batch of self-important trash that no one actually knows (hence the "self" in self-important) unless they stick to England and a few towns they've hobnobbed about in outside England.
Gosh, gee whiz, jeepers, look at the other bit of news! Madrid won't play him and the star of the world (except Madrid) could be here immediately! It is Madrid, right? Oh well, who cares? (Lol, not Madrid I guess...)

As far as publicty is concerned, David and Victoria would be the joke of the year in every late night shows and tabloids around town. I mean let face it, this couple relies on their popularity which doesnt match with their skills as a footballer or an artist. He is over-rated and being paid too much. I think he will end up like Mariah Carey when she signed conract with Virgin and the company discontinue her contract for the lack of artistic consistency and failed to deliver!
England doesnt want him. Plus he is getting old for a sportman. Spaniard football club gained nothing from him and Posh spice- the wife..what would she do in L A? Prancing around Rodeo Drive shopping and feed the tabloids?!

I was thinking he's got to be a huge sell-out to come to America to play soccer when we're really not all that into it. The only people I know that like soccer are foreign born. Their just following the biggest paycheck.
Scary thought, even though he's the famous athlete Americans probably only know who Victoria Beckam is because she was a Spice Girl!

I would love if Beckham would actually help American soccer, the ticket sales here have pretty much sky-rocketed from what I read though. We don't even need a good soccer player necessarily,we need one who is known and will draw attention.Cause we could have the best soccer player in the world currently, and it wouldn't help.Because barely anybody would know of him.So hopefully,Becks will break the ice.

I suspect that fewer than 35% of Americans even know who the Beckhams are and that an even smaller percentage even care.
Professional soccer ranks behind professional bowling in popularity in this country and no one, other than the entertainment media, has much interest in the Beckhams.

Personally I don't care about them. They're not going to be big celebs here like they think they are. Americans don't care for soccer as much. We only care about baseball, basketball, and football. Yeah he's hot but looks alone won't make you a celeb! I think they should go back to wherever they came from!

Anything to upstage Paris Hilton, Lyndsey Lohan, Nicole Richie and Brittney Spears and get their mugs out of the rags is GREAT by me!! David is certainly better to look at than his freak-show of a wife, though.

They're trying to make soccer popular in America by having a good looking guy and his anorexic, snobby wife come to LA! I don't think it will work though!

I could care less.
I don't watch sports- unless it's wrestling or UFC.
I didn't even know the US even HAD a soccer team! I thought that was only for high schoolers! LOL!
