I think Jewel's singing is atrocious and it is a joke that she is judging other people's singing abilities. Is she going to be on the entire season? Let's hope not.

I agree about her voice, it's really not good. But she is an amazing song writer. But she's on Nashville Star also. I don't think she can do both.

I LOVE JEWELS MUSIC AND I SCREAMED FOR NEARLY THE WHOLE SHOW BECAUSE I HAD NO CLUE THAT SHED BE ON THIER- I LOVE HER MUSIC AND HAVE ALL HER CDS AND IM LIKE HER BIGGEST FAN-AND FOR ALL OFF U ALL WHO THINK SHE " STINKS " WELL LOOK HER UP- SHES GOT THE RECORD - 4.5 BILLION CDS SHE HAS SOLD! SO IF THATS NOT ENOUGH TO LET SOMEONE JUDGE SOME PREMATURES THEN I SURE WOULD LIKE TO NO WHAT IS- AND I DONT NO WHAT THE DEAL WITH HER IS THAT EVERYONE SUDDENLY HATES HER- BUT I DONT SEE ANYTHING WRONG WITH HER- SHES GOT GREAT SONGS SHE CAN PLAY GUITAR GOOD AND HER VOICE IS WONDERFUL- SO BEFORE U JUDGE PEOPLE FOR THIER TEETH NOT BEING EXACTLY RIGHT OR FOR NOT HITTING NUMBER 1 IN THE LAST 2 DAYS WHY DONT U TAKE A LOOK AT URSELF AND U TRY SINGING- U GO TO AMERICAN IDOL! No, she's not going to be on the entire season. And that you think she is atrocious is your opinion. I think Ozzy Osborn's singing (if you can call it that) is atrocious BUT he made a career of it, and that is my opinion.
Jewel really does have a great voice, and she writes great songs.
She's there because she has been in their shoes before and she knows what record companies are looking for.

I agree with you about her singing. I think she was just a guest judge and will not be back. It said in the paper that her and Paula had a little spat toward the end of the auditions. I think Jewel was taking herself way too seriously last night. She was in that position once in her life, trying to sell herself as a singer. She was really hard on the people, I thought. I mean who is she to judge. Anyhow, I agree with you 100%.

Well i think yall are crazy if you think Jewell stinks! She can make music, as in she can play an instrument and she does have a beautiful voice in my opinion, prolly better than paula!! She was just a guest judge for that one day and se looked like she was sorry she even agreed to that much! You can all chill, i doubt she will ever want to go back! However i was suprised at how honest she was...i thought she was going to be too nice. I was wrong about that!!

There are many different singing personalities out and I think the producers are trying to promote a wide variety. By what I have seen the guest judges are not around the whole time, they switch frequently. I personally don't like watching until they whittle it down to the main contenders, it really is pitiful before then because most everyone is really bad and they know it, but just want to be on TV for their 15 seconds. Not sure about Jewel's singing - not a fan, but she was a bit of a refreshing change from the other three. Paula looked extremely out of it last night.

Well, I guess some of the higher ups must think she knows something about singing. She seems to make good comments while judging, so far! Who knows? Maybe no one else was available! She won't be singing so don't worry!

they have had guest judges all the time. Just because you don't like Jewel doesn't mean millions of others don't. Its just a TV show for entertainment. Don't take is so seriously.

Jewel has amazing control. She actually started yodeling before she started singing, which takes alot of control. I don't particularly like her style of music, but the girl can sing!
I've been singing for 10 years, so I know what to look for. Can you do better?? :)

Wait. Isnt Jewel hosting that stupid country version of American Idol on the USA network? eesh, that no talent sellout likes to be in alot shows that have people trying to see if they have talent. Im glad i slept during the premiere.
