As there was no beginning. The 2 main theories among cosmologists are:

1) The universe will eventually collapse from gravitational pull.

2) The most favored theory at this time is, that the universe will continue to expand and eventually run out of new material to form new stars; so activity will end. But the matter will still be there.

No one knows what will happen after the two scenarios; without getting into religion.

Man cannot understand the concept of infinity. Everything must have a beginning and end. Even Einstein has his theories about how long it would take to circumnavigate the universe. All I know is that as old stars die, new are born. There is so much we don't understand. Thank God. We need those mysteries.

It is a total mystery, unimaginable, UNTHINKABLE, undefined or you can say it is a magic(if you think deeper). where science or even religion fail to describe. If we think universe has end, then what's beyond that end point. If we think that god is holding the universe in his hand then where he is standing. ok, let's believe that he is standing on heaven then what's beyond that heaven. At a point where, your thinking stops.

The concept of space and its true infinity is beyond the perception of mankind. Einstein was working on unified field theory and the proven concept of entanglement, or "spooky physics" as he termed it. Space is a very large place and the concept of confinement applied to it only suggests the presence of human terminology regulating chaos dynamics.

I believe every thing has a beginning and an end but your question may never be answered at least in our life time.
