First off, keep your home clean and free of garbage, dust, etc.
Keep your kitchen and fridge clean. This prevents odors.
Hang up candle sconces or display candles everywhere. They are nicely scented and keep your home smelling nice.
Throw a lemon in your garbage disposal if you have one.
Sometimes, I take a pot of water and add apples, cinnamon, cloves and boil and let simmer. It makes the house smell really nice.

Well, I'm not a big fan of scented air fresheners. It aggrevates my allergies. Also, I read that the plug in's can be dangerous. I prefer to eliminate the odors and not just cover them up.
First, a good cleaning always is a good place to start. There is a product called Odor ban that is great and antibacterial. I've found it in Costco and Sams. But, for continuous odor free and fresh smelling air without fragrances and chemicals and without the hassle of having to constantly spray, buy a bunch of carbon odor absorbers and put them around the house starting with your refrigerator and also put everywhere else odors may come from like near garbage, closets, etc. The best I found is a product called Fridge It. It's small and doesn't have any chemicals or fragrances and can use everywhere. Can even put in freezer and still works fantastic. Can get it in lots of places. Try Walmart and Linens and Things.

Everyone has a preference but if you like the smell of Pine-sol this little trick will work...take a large spray bottle and put about 1/4 cup of Pine-sol in it and fill it on up with plain old water...shake well and use it all over the house for a quick freshener-upper. Of course keeping the house clean and the trash taken out are a must, too.

Sprinkle baking soda on the carpet approximately 15 min. before you vacuum, it help do away with odors. additionally throw some lemon rind into the rubbish disposal, it supplies the kitchen a sparkling fragrance. Air out/beat all quilts, mats, rugs regularly. Open the homestead windows to air out the homestead. Do your laundry rapidly. merely take some day out a week to scrub properly. you do not easily want all those air freshers in case you keep a sparkling homestead. The air fresheners are not sturdy for you or the atmosphere besides. once you're a huge fan of them, use potpourri or slightly orange peel in a dish of baking soda.

Try to use natural essential oils to fragrance the home - they smell better than synthetics and are good for you too!
