I am 39 weeks pregnant with my first baby. It was discovered during a level 2 ultrasound back in September that he was breech and I was reassured we had plenty of time for him to turn. He didn't turn until December 27th, at which time he was in vertex position. I am currently seeing my OBGYN twice a week for a NST and they do an ultrasound also to check my fluid levels. When I go for my appt. on Tuesdays, he's breech, back on Friday, he's vertex. Has anyone experienced this before and if so any suggestions on getting him to stay put in vertex or head down? I'm scheduled to be induced next Tuesday but if he's not head down then we have to do a c-section which I really don't want to do...help! Thanks much! :o)

Find a chiropractor who is familiar with the Webster Technique. It is gentler than having a doc do an external cephalic version and has a very high success rate.

You can also continue to try pelvic tilts and shoulder stands. (Did your OB talk to you at all about the stuff you can be doing to turn him?)

My little munchkin is doing the same thing! At 34 weeks he was transverse, then at 35 weeks he was breech, then at 36 weeks he was vertex, and now at 37 weeks I swear he's breech again (feeling the hickups close to my ribs, not near the bottom) He's moved so much this pregnancy that my doc has had the whole C section and version talks with me already. I'm completely freaked out... but it's my second, so i'm sure by the end i'll jsut be like... get him out! hehe. The only thing you can do to get him to move is move yourself. Check this site out http://www.spinningbabies.com/ and hope he doesn't end up posterior! Back labour is the suck.

I'm surprised baby has enough room for all the gymnastics, but it's fine and there's nothing you can do to stimulate a move in either direction. Just try to relax and if baby gets stuck in breech, docs will do what they can to move baby appropriately so you don't have to go through c-section.

Don't worry. Plenty of babies are born breach and plenty are born by c-section. You can't force the baby to go any particular way, so let him go the way he wants. In a couple of week, you'll have a fine healthy baby and you'll forget you ever worried.
