I would hope so. For a nation founded on all these freedoms, we have done a crap job in making sure that the freedoms are for everyone. I think no one could do a worse job than Bush has, and I think that the sheep that followed this oil pimp blindly, well, these are the people responsible for the USAs poor image and our horrid attitudes. I'd vote for black person anyday. And Id hope the new black pres imprisoned Bush as the first official duty.

Jessie Jackson ran for President twice. 1984, and 1988. This is not the first ime.

Obama is not black. His mother is white, and his Father is from Africa (Kenya). Maybe if we cut him in 1/2, then we could say he is black.

However, it is not about color. It is about what he stands for. I'm from Illinois and so far he hasn't done much as a Senator.

I guess Bill Clinton should be imprisoned too. After all, it was his idea to invade Iraq in 1998.

We've been ready for a long time. Read the requirements to be President. There was never any mention of race OR gender.

Now will it happen any time soon? Probably I'm just not sure how soon soon is.

America should have been ready. The question should be are you ready to vote for a black man or a black woman?

I am. As long as the man/woman can do the job and prove it then yes. But you have to look at all the ignorant racist people and really hope they can get elected.

I will vote for any candidate I feel reflects my ideals and has the ability to run this country. I do not care if they are white, black, red or green. I do not care if they are male, female or something else.

If they are qualified, experienced and have a plan that I support then why not? But don't bring forth an inexperienced drug user with a questionable past and expect us to buy into his story because he can talk a good sermon.

whether it's ready or not i don't know but i think it should be. The colour of a person's skin shouldn't be an indiactor as to how well a country can be run.

No. The country on the whole, especially the Southern and Red States, is too racist. If you are a Black, a Jew, or a woman, you have no chance in those areas of getting votes. They are 50 years behind.

Yes. I think the non-racists far outnumber the racists.
