Yahoo has made several changes to this site over the past couple of weeks. I've been online during a few of them.

Use that 'Tell us what you think' link at the bottom and let them know what's going on. This type of web site can be challenging to work on, and they probably want to know that something's wrong so they can fix it.

Go to the forum page and see what they have planned for the multiple profiling trolls that set up 15 answers on the same question and answer. It's called gaming points and opinions. This page has turned into the Neocon spam site and a laughing stock for the web. I don't think Yahoo Answers had that in mind.

Maybe its because some people give the thumbs down to a good answer and not to a bad one YES or NO

Maybe its their way of trying to weed all el stupido questions. You know, people now answering questions can rate your questions with the star at the bottom of the question. That way I spose we'll all know how interesting a question is according to other Y/A members????

Cheers.....................

You know, I was thinking the same thing. I miss being able to do that too. I guess someone complained or got their feelings hurt.

While I agree with what you say, there certainly is no "right" to thumbs down a question.

I think its due to the abuse it suffered. One political parties questions all get THumbs Down, obviously racists questions dont or vice versa, etc. There was just too much opportunity for abuse.

Besides if you really thumbs Down a question, you should report it for an infraction. Dont thumbs down a question just because you disagree with it. Also doing ONLY thumbs up is making us all shinier happier people.

I do think that being able to give a thumbs down to a question is a nice piece of functionality; but if you think about it, it is a bit redundant.

That's the whole point of being able to answer the question. If you disagree with the question, then answer it and say why you disagree with it.

Now, people cannot take the easy way out and just give a thumbs down to a question they do not like. They actually have to take time to say so by answering it.
