In my not so humble opinion, yes I do believe she has a highly developed skill, both a curse and a blessing. I sometimes wonder considering the considerable fortune she is amassing, but the books she has written are full of knowledge. It boils down the the need for empircal proof so evident in a society stripped over the millenia of its spiritual outlets. No, state religions are not a source of spiritualism for most people.

Sylvia's skills are proven. Her work is proven. Yes many psychics are scammers, but many are not. Sylvia is the real deal. Her insight and other worldly views are a gift to the people even if they do pay for her books and speeches.

Sylvia's gift is her amazing ability to take what has formely been inexplicable, and put it into language that anyone can understand. She is respectful of all others and their belief systems. I find her leaning towards Christianity a tad pesky, but then, this is a reflection of her origins and the context in which she herself thinks.

As with everything else today, one reads her work with an open mind and takes in what one is ready to accept and rejects that which makes one uncomfortable within.

I take everything I read with a grain of salt, but I found that much of what she espouses is true and real for any and all who are open minded to the world of the invisible.

I know that it was her words that helped me through the spiritual crisis I suffered after the suicide of my partner. They helped me find hope and see a future. If for no other reason, she is the real deal to me. However, before any one pans her, let them contact her and speak to her himself. She loves debate!

Wow, I just read an excerpt on Sylvia Browne an hour ago regarding the latest on Shawn Hornbeck, the child who was recently found after being kidnapped over 4 years ago.
His parents contacted her for a reading (through Montel Williams) and apparently she was WAY off. She implied that Shawn was dead. Another psychic also told the family he was dead. However we all know this to be completely untrue.
I do not have any knowledge about how these people get their information, whether it be by intuition or just blatantly exploiting others misery for their own wealth, who knows.
I would research her claims and see what you can find.

Yes and no at the same time. I believe certain people are given extraordinary talents and abilities. I have a friend who is called in by the police department in cases such as these. She is not allowed to receive any kind of payment for giving her help, and mostly, all is done in confidence. I do not know if Sylvia Browne is in this category, or is doing it for money.

I'm not at all 100% certain......but know she's atleast somewhat gifted because a spiritual reader I go to about 1-2 times a yr. is UNCANNINGLY accurate~esp. on readings regarding health/predictions (on people that "just came up in the readings on several different occassions), in which she studied in Egypt under the guidance of Sylvia Browne

She is a liar and a convicted felon. Great that they found the boy. No thanks to her. Check out the link.

Also I'd like to see ANY official statement by police or FBI that she has or is working cases at their request.

Add on:
Browne's gaff on Shawn Hornbeck is getting a lot of buzz on the net.
Also on CNN's Anderson Cooper 360° 1/19/07 see 2nd link.

its a scam, and you are the idiot if you believe anything these people say. Its meant for entertainment. There is no truth or anything they say.

Isn't this the same woman who claimed last summer NYC would be hit by a major hurricane causing huge damage and loss of life? Guess what not even one hurricane came close to land in the northeast.

I even ought to admit at cases she will be very convincing, yet on the different hand, she is really wealthy with the revenues of her many books and for the time of charging determined human beings over $250 a whack only to "ask" one question on her internet website - who's responsive to what number different kinds of "magic" she prices boo coo greenbacks for everywhere else. the in reality ingredient that makes me dis have self assurance, is because she IS doing all this to make money - massive money. even as I agree everyone with a real "present" has each ideal to apply it for his or her own benefit too, they ought to no longer be using it to become tremendous wealthy. a real "present" is given to you to "share" so as all can benefit - no longer benefit in reality after paying a hefty value.

I do. I have alot of her books, and I have also saw her on TV alot. she has solved alot of crimes for the police. I think she is not as good as she use to be personable, she's after the greed now, and doesn't explain alot now, or take your time. It's short and that's it. I love her book on meditations, and feel she could of not known this stuff if she couldn't read spirits or people. Go to the library and look at some of her books, they are great !! everyone has this ability if worked on.
