Some time ago, i read one could cure its nearsightedness by training the eye. It's done by staring at a far distant object for 15 minutes a day. You will need one or to years to get effects.
It's supposed mechanism is, that the muscle regulating the eye-lense is getting trained, thus enabling the lense to get the right focus on you retina.
I don't know if it works for all kinds of nearsightedness. For that matter, it seems to me that this "therapy" has not been studied scientifically. And regarding the time-investment needed, I'll stick with my goggles, which is by far the easiest way to improve your eyesight.
There's is also the possibility to have an operation on your eyes. With the help of a laser, the lense is reshaped. I don't know for which condition ou can use this, though.

First, avoid damaging it with poor lighting, staring at the sun, staring at a computer screen for hours on end, getting diabetes or untreated glaucoma, etc.
Next, 'stretch' it (as you should for the rest of your body) by using it through its full range of motion (near to far) throughout the day. If you wear glasses, spend some time each day without them so your muscles work toward forming your lens into the shape needed for good unaided vision.
Be sure your body has an adequate supply of key nutrients like lutein and beta carotene.

Also, you can try eye doing exercises to improve your vision. I recently started doing eye exercises to try to improve my vision. I created a blog where I record my progress with the exercises.
I recently saw little improvement. Other people (who have also experienced improvements) have posted comments about their experiences as well. You can check it out at: http://improvingmyeyesight.com/blog
Hope this helps...
