consult a local civil litigation solicitor. Enquire about funding first, i.e no win no fee. It depends what action your claim arises out of i.e if it was a road accident you may have legal expenses insurance on your insurance policy which will fund it

In any event a Solicitor can sue for compensation in the County Court. If you are successful they can probably recover their costs from the opposing party.

You can go to County Court for a claim up to £25,000. You can do it your self. Just get the papers from the court fill them in and pay the fee, but you get your court Costs refunded when you win.

You do not, over a certain amount you have to go to a different court and this means a solicitor etc. If you can break the amounts into smaller sums, or take a lean against the defendant.
