I clean up after them every day. I mop the floors to get up all the smell. I bought some cat/dog repellent to try to discourage them from going under the bed, behind the couch, under the piano. They are fixed. If I cant stop their bad behavior, they will be outdoor rabbits. I have hardwood floor with rugs scattered about. I cannot have them destroy my house. Please help me.

Why don't you keep them in a cage when they are not supervised?

Use wood shavings from a pet shop in a box with one low side, make sure the rabbits can turn around in it, put it in their main pooping corner (you may need more than one) and pop some hay in it as bunnies like to poop where they eat... Litter is rarely dangerous, but certain pets faeces and some litter when it breaks down (it releases fumes or powder) cab have a negative effect on pregnant women. Wood is Natual and also soaks up urine very effectively. Good luck x

You dont specify their age but rabbits can do this for various reasons...I have a 2 year old house rabbit who was perfectly litter trained and all of a sudden, seemed to forget how to do it in his litter tray. The vet told me it was because he needed the snip. Since having that done, he has stopped. The only time he will do it now is if theres something down thats just been washed and it smells TOO clean and fresh for his liking and he has to mark his territory on it again!!!!! The best way to handle this is to show him what he has done by sitting him next to it, sharply saying 'No' to him and put him straight back in his bed with his litter tray. Leave him there as punishment for at least 24 hrs till he has learnt to behave again! Its worth sticking with as house rabbits live longer and happier lives than outdoor bunnies who tend to get depressed and upset! Hope this helps. Good luck - and much love to the bunny fans!!!!

Interesting that you mentioned they are fixed because this is classic rabbit mating season behavior and it normally starts this time of the year. I don't have a fixed rabbit but it is possible they still engage in this activity out of instinct.

If you have not owned the rabbits over this time of the year it is very possible they may go back to their perfect rabbit selves in a few months.

Definitely put them in their litter box every time you catch them in the act.

There are all kinds of bunny condos that you can buy that will still fit the litter box. Keep them in them while your not at home. Just let them out when you can supervise their play. If they start going just put them back in the condo and do that each time they start they will get the idea eventually.

did you resently change the litter, or move the litter tray, little things like this can make rabbits stop using litter boxes. try putting the box in places where they poop the most.
