There may be two correct answers. The way you have presented the problem it is 30/31 thirty divided by thirty one. 0.97 just under one dollar a day.

Another way to calculate it is cost per month times months in year, divided by days in year. This is more accurate but always remember you want to give the answer the teacher wants.

This gives us 30*12/365 = 0.99 each day
