Yes it should be. Though many people in this country speak Spanish, the vast majority of taxpaying citizens speak English.

It already is the Official language of the US and should stay that way. Why ? Well, it could be because it started that way, and it would be an extremely odd thing for the english language to be changed, all kids learn to speak it in schools in America, if they changed the language, they would have to change the curriculum of our schools, and how many students in America do you think can read any other foreign language at this point in their lives ?

English is the common language in the US. It is the language that all laws are written in. If we were to have an official language, it would certainly be English.

There are people today who do not like our culture. They are trying to undermine it. They discourage immigrants to assimilate. They would prefer to have enclaves of other cultures within this country. They are resisting the idea of English being recognized as the official language, because they are opposed to anything that unites as a nation.

Their opposition extends to the promotion of "multiculturalism". The absurdity of synthetic holidays like "Kwanzaa" shows how far these people will go to divide us.

Promoting diversity divides us into groups. Accentuating what we have in common makes us a strong, unified nation. Obviously, a common language, whether official or not, is necessary for a unified nation.

Yes English should be the official language of the USA and everyone who wishes to live here should have to learn English or leave.
America was formed by English speaking persons all others came second and learned the language. They did not have a problem with becoming American so why should new recent arrivals.
All schools, colleges and government business should be conducted in English and all who don't like it should leave and live in the crap hole they came from.
We need one common (as does all countries) language. Go to Mexico and tell them they have to learn English, or Saudia Arabia or France and explain to them they must change their national language.

It's time for America to rock the boat on immigrants, preferablely in the middle of the Atlantic, and let em swim home.
We should set standards for our country and others should live by them and the first rule of order is a common language, not Spainish where mexicans congrete here or Arabic where arabic congrete, or Russian where russians settle.
There are 2nd and 3rd generation Cubans in Miami Fla. who cannot speak English. There are signs for employment which read spainish speaking only, and this wrong. This is a shame and should be illegal. Send them back to their beloved spainish speaking Castro land. If our customs and language is too awful for them let them go back to mexico, back to Cuba, back to Russia, back to Saudia Arabia, back to Iran, back to Pakistan, back to Iraq where it's so peaceful and loving and quiet.

We as human beings should have a universal language. Whichever is the most spoken language worldwide should be the universal language that everyone should learn. Plus we should be able to speak whichever language is our heritage.

Everyone should learn to speak more than one language, it's just common sense.
