Nice is really beautiful,in particular the old part(vieux nice) where you can also find nice little fish restaurants. You will also like to have a walk on the Promenade des anglais, where you can enjoy the view of the town and of the beach.Iwould pay attention because as a big town can get a little dangerous at times.Avoid late night walks. While you are in cote d'azur you should go to visit Eze village, located between nice and monaco. It is an amazing little village which is worth a look.

I lived there for years and yes there are many things to see in Nice or nearby....The "old NICE" quarter is superb with its flower market, the hills of Cimiez are great and you have a lovely view of the town, of course a walk along the cobble beach on the Promenade Des Anglais is a "must"
Nearby you have the fantastic Marineland of ANTIBES and just next to there you can visit in BIOT a famous glass making factory where they still blow the glass in front of you......
Anyway have a great time...

There is a good transport system there to all the surrounding towns. There are also day excursions and half day trips you can book locally. Graisse is a town where perfume is made and you can visit the factories. You can go to Monaco for a day. You can do trips out on the sea and visit islands during the day. the gorge of Verdun, which is inland. It is The Grand Canyon of Europe. Lots to do. have a great time.
