If i get about 8 hours of sleep im less tired then if i get 10 or 12

10 or 12 hours of sleep is too much for you. Getting too much sleep can actually make you more tired than if you get less. I would stick around the 8 hour mark.

You might be waking up in the middle of a REM cycle. Your sleep gets deeper and shallower over the course of a night. The average is that after twenty minutes you drop into a deep sleep and remain there for 1 1/2 hours. Then you're back close to waking, then drop into deep sleep again. If you wake up in the middle of one of these deep sleeps then you feel sleepy for a long time afterward.

The best thing is to get on a sleep schedule with about 7-8 hrs a sleep at nite. The same time everynite & wake the same time every morning. This helps me. I hope it works for you too.

There is such thing as too much sleep. 8 hrs will have you functioning a hell of alot better. 10-12 is way too much you will feel tired all day long and probably still feel the need to take a nap.
