It is incurable unfortunately. You can manage it with medications for most people but I have never come across a case of a Schizophrenic that has been cured.
Psychotherapy helps for some but Schizophrenics tend to have poor insight into their condition which makes it incredibly hard to treat with psychotherapy alone. Medications work well for most, but it takes some experimentation to find the "right fit" and even then, compliance is a BIG issue.
There is alot of research on the disease but unfortunately, I've never come across any that even remotely eludes to a possible cure.

There is no cure for paranoid schizophrenics. The problem they have is that they have a chemical imbalance. There are a number of medications that help balance the chemicals, but none work perfectly and all have to be taken regularly.

Paranoid schizophrenics have a tendency to stop taking their medication when they feel in control. The paranoia makes them nervous about taking medicines and when they feel good they think that the medicine is no longer necessary.

There really is no cure. My brother-in-law suffers from paranoid schizophrenia and when he takes his medicine he does really well, but you can usually tell that he is not well. During every conversation he will start talking about how the government is spying on us all and that he wants to see his file.

Take care,
Troy

These are by far the most challenging people to treat. In my 31 years as a practicing clinical psychologist, I have never personally seen or have even heard of a paranoid schizophrenic who was helped by psychotherapy alone. The only effective treatment I know of is with medication prescribed by an experienced psychiatrist. But what makes effective treatment all the more complicated is that it is extremely difficult to convince such individuals to take the medication, since true paranoid schizophrenics do not believe that there's anything wrong with them--they are firmly convinced that their delusional beliefs are totally valid and true, and therefore they can't understand that they need any treatment whatsoever.

I don't think paranoid schizophrenics can ever really be "cured," but there are a host of medications available to help calm their visions and delusions. However, most of these drugs have serious side effects, and the patients can actually experience more discomfort on the meds than off of them. If schizophrenia is really severe, the patient usually needs to be institutionalized in a mental health facility.

Generally, you can't. You can help a paranoid schizophrenic follow a treatment of medication to control the symptoms of schizophrenia, which can save the life of the poor soul.

There is no cure that I know of, but it is treatable, and with the support of friends and family it will be easier to deal with. Who has paranoid schizophrenia?

There's no guaranteed cure, they should see a psychologist.

But what you can do, is if they say something crazy, tell them that, say very forcefully, "That's CRAZY.".
Do not let them persist in a delusiuon, and do not entertain their paranoid fantasies in any way.

You kill them, and they are as good as never been sick at all. Other than that, you can't.
