sounds like he's trying to leave a path clear back to you if what ever he left you for doesn't work out

You file yourself and have him serve. It doesn't matter that the fact that he left you first. If you want a divorce, just file the papers yourself. Good luck.

Do it yourself. He doesn't want to be the "reason" paperwork was filed. Or he doesn't want to pay to file the paperwork.

You want out???? File yourself, what's the big deal? Divorce papers on on the internet, cost is about $15 and even attorneys are. They will do it for you for $75 cheap!!!! You want out, or not???

I know where I live if you want a divorce and the other party won't sign the papers you have to just wait it out for two years and then its granted,that's providing that you are not fight over anything like houses,cars and children?!
