I am sorry but you wouldn't get any royalties. The name Sim was used since SimCity, Sims is just the plural of the word Sim, which stands for simulate, simulation.
In the game Sims, Sim = simulated person, Sims = many Sim.
You could write them and maybe you get a free game :-)
