I'm in south TX. we're iced in. kids have been off school for the last two days. the whole city is shut down. does anyone have any horror stories or bad driving stories? (i'm from the north, so this sort of thing is amusing to me).

I guess it's not so amusing when you truely have problems. I'm sorry for making light of this weather. But i'm still interested in everyone's stories!

I live in southern Cal. I have lost my citrus crop and maybe even my beautiful tree in my yard. My strawberries in my garden are all gone, the veggies are gone. The veggies and the citrus across the entire state has been devasted and the price in the store for salad and citrus are expeted to at least tripple! Other than that...we are having a butt freezing nice day. (Am looking forward to rain for God's sake at least that is warmer than the frost!)

I have been affected (I'm in TX too). My sister in law, who is pregnant, is in the Hospital over at San Diego. I had a flight to catch yesterday but it was canceled and now I am leaving until tomorrow. Her condition is delicate, and my brother is going a bit nuts, I want to be there to help him and the rest of the family and because of this stupid weather I have been housebound for two days. I have been praying...that has helped.

definite.. Cool and/or overcast climate is a "downer" for me. most of the failings i love to do, are performed outdoors in sturdy climate. It does not take long for me to get "cabin fever". when I retired, I made particular i may be uncovered to as many days of sunlight and as plenty 12 months around heat climate as obtainable. I retired in the Southern California desolate tract. In 15 years, i think of i've got seen the sunlight on a daily basis. can not undergo in ideas considered one of those days that have been under freezing, after sunup.

In South Carolina we haven't had any ice yet, but it is getting very cold and they are predicting that we could get some of the ice by late tonight. Stay warm and be safe!

No bad weather, just a train derailment. A bad ice storm would shut down my area too.

It's strange. During the weekend, the sun was out and it was a little warm, but soon as the week, and classes start, the weather wants to kick our butts. Why? :/

In England and although our weather seems bad to us its no where near as bad as what some of you are having in America.
Only thing thats happened is the fence came down.
